IN TIME OF NEED

A short film developed by the Its My Shout Organisation in collaboration with the BBC Wales. The short film explores themes of conflict in friendships and focuses on the children's unique and exciting process to mend their bond. 

I worked on 'In Time of Need' as a Costume Assistant, helping with both pre-production and on-set responsibilities. These include: 

  • Fitting extras and providing them with the a costume according to their measurements and role in the short. 

  • Kindly welcoming and assisting cast during fittings and on-set.

  • Being aware of time restraints within the preproduction team which effects the overall pace of the film e.g working around the  hair and makeup team schedule. 

  • Standing by on-set to survey the costume continuity. 

  • Taking on responsibilities to return rented garments from Merigolds Costume Retail Services.​

  • Assisting the Costume Designer and responding to costume requests from the director 

  • Having a good understanding of the storyline and how the costumes would need to change in each scene when filming not in chronological order. 

  • Communicating with other staff such as the assistant directors, producers, production designer, sound team and hair and makeup.
